There is hardly one person in the world who has never heard about Moscow. A great city, the capital of independent Russia, during more than 850 years of its existence (the city was founded in 1147 by Prince Yuri Dolgorukiy), grew from a small town on the banks of the calm Moskva river into a giant city with a population of more than 10 million people and an area of more than 900 square km.

This city is called in different ways - Northern Venice, North Palmira, North Aurora . But none of these names can fully express the glorious enchantment, inimitable elegance and unique charm and originality of Saint-Petersburg.

Founded in 1010 by Yaroslav the Wise (future Grand Prince of Kiev ), is a large, pleasantly quiet old town, and yet much more metropolitan than the other cities on the Golden Ring. Yaroslavl developed rapidly because of its favorable location along the Volga trade route.
